Hello and good morning!
I am going to dive right into this and say that I am already planning for Preptober. This term is very familiar to those that participate in NaNoWriMo, a month-long writing program that takes place in November. Preptober, which takes place in October, is the time to plan out your novel, connect with other writers, and basically get hyped to write 50k words.
Even though October is still almost two weeks away, like I said before, I am already planning. So what I’ve done is sat down and created a “to do” list for Preptober.
Preptober To-Do:
- Choose Project
- Make my “writing space”
- create survival kit
- choose one main writing buddy or create romance writing group
- create/print out writing schedule for November
- choose milestone rewards
- create small TBR for November (choose ones that will inspire me to write)
- plan/write blogs in advance for November
- clean house in advance
- meal prep like crazy
- sleep while you can (too much writing to do in November!)
Listed above are the main things I need to be focusing on. In past Octobers, I didn’t utilize that prep time the way I should have, thinking that I had a strong idea and the words would just flow onto the page. Needless to say, since I’m starting over from scratch, yet again, that I need to get my ass in gear. I have given myself a personal deadline to have a final draft of any novel I’m working on ready to hand in to a publisher by December 31, 2019. So I really want to use this NaNo as a good launch to kick off my writing.
As I use the month of October to gear up for NaNo, I will be posting blogs to share my progress and tips and tricks I’m finding helpful along the way. Be sure to click that follow button so you don’t miss any of my posts!
Thanks for reading, and until next time………………..
