Hello and good evening! So I have been off and on writing this post for what seems like two weeks now. While we may be on the final trek to finishing up 2018, this is probably my favorite time of the year as bringing in the new year feels like pressing a giant reset button. A fresh start to kick off an endless amount of goals. In a way, I look forward setting my New Year’s Resolutions the most during the holidays. So, sit back, grab some popcorn, and enjoy!

Reading Goals
So let’s start off my enormous list of goals/resolutions with my favorite topic. Every year I participate in the Goodreads Reading Challenge, and 2019 is no different. My first plan of action will be setting my goal at 100 books. While I may be striving to reach a certain number of books, my main reading goal is to try and deminish my TBR pile by as much as possible in the upcoming year. To help reach this goal I plan on participating in as many readathons as I can to make it more fun and interesting. I have already gone through and printed out the list of readathons from #AYEARATHON as well as Hooked On Books. Some other challenges/readathons that I am excited for are the annual BookTubeathon, #smutathon (hopefully?), Duodecathon, and so many more.

Writing Goals
2018 was the year for me to kind of catch a break from writing. Every so often I would open up a document and splash out a couple paragraphs, but I was never striving towards any real goal. This year I am giving myself a deadline to have a single book fully written and revised by December 31, 2019. While I may not exactly be starting from scratch, since I have been working on a novel for quite a few years, this is in no way going to be an easy task. The characters and the world-building has always been in my head, but the plot is the biggest part for me to nail down and actually stick to it. Fingers crossed for this one.

Health Goals
This past year, I have made a positive change to living a more healthy lifestyle. I’m more likely now to grab water than a soda and I’ve gotten into the habit of meal prepping my meals in advance (whenever I can). However, I was still going out to eat more than I’d have liked and there were times when I would fall off the wagon and just binge eat for like a week. For 2019 I want to actually strive to lose weight, which of course means eating cleaner, becoming more active, and cutting out those “cheat days”. Like my earlier goals, I’m going big on this one and want to lose roughly 25+ lbs (in a safe and healthy way).
Social Media
My goal for social media (my blog/Instagram/Goodreads) for 2019 are simple and that is to be more active. Not only do I need to post more regularly (I’ve kind of fallen off with Instagram as of late) but I also want to be more active in commenting on others blogs and pictures. It’s so easy to press the “like” button but it’s definitely more thoughtful to leave comments for the posts that I really like. So I definitely need to focus on that this year!
Life Goals
My biggest goal for next year is to focus on family. After a long day of work, after the homework is done and dinner is made, my family unwinds by going to three separate rooms to play video games, watch TV (separately), and play on computers. I want to get out of that mindset and bring my family together more often. The easiest way to do that is to incorporate family fun nights with either puzzles or games that separate us from the tv screens for just a few hours a week. We used to be very big into outdoor activities and so when the weather warms up, I really want to get back to going for walks or fishing, cruising on the boat. Anything to get us outside and making memories!

My final goal for 2019 is to slowly but surely go through my home and purge out everything that I no longer need/will never use. We moved into our home in 2015 and since then, there has been a growing pile of clutter and dust bunnies that seriously have got to go. I also have never done anything to really make this house “ours” other than moving in furniture. So I’m not sure what I want to do yet, but I know a deep cleaning is in order and this is the year to do it! (All while saving money, because of course, that’s always a dream of mine.)
So….am I insane?
After reading over this list one final time, maybe I am. So much to accomplish in a single year. Even if I only accomplish one thing on my list, I’ll be ecstatic. However, if you’re going to dream, dream big right?
I hope you all have had a wonderful holiday season and have a safe and happy New Year!
