I’ve been feeling a little under the weather lately, what with an onslaught of flus and colds, not to mention the impending return of my endometriosis. Fun right? Yesterday was definitely the worst day, waking up at 1 in the morning feeling like complete trash. Ugh. Though I feel much better today, I still called off, because if I’ve learned anything from past illnesses, pushing myself before my body is healed will only slow me down more.
While, I’m still a little sick, I woke up with the attitude that I was going to be super productive today, and I figured why not share it with you?
So my alarms went off at around 4 o’clock this morning. Since I normally start work at 5:45, I have to call off by 5 in order to not get dinged. (I mean I am getting dinged but at least I won’t get in trouble.) Once I’ve been responsible and called off I, of course, went right back to sleep until the sun came up!
Waking up (for real this time)
Waking up, I threw on a robe and comfy clothes to go downstairs for breakfast. My animals know the moment they hear me moving around that it’s snack time for them. I give them all a treat every morning while I have my coffee brewing and food is cooking! Like I said earlier, I was super sick yesterday so I seriously needed to put food in my stomach ASAP.
I’ve been trying to break the habit of taking my food to my office, so I brought my book out to the kitchen and ate at the table this morning. Go me! Also, I took my HUM Nutrition vitamins. I used to be so good at taking them, but I kind of fell off the wagon on that one.

Once I’ve eaten and cleared the table, I filled up the dishwasher because, hey, I’ve been sick and my sink is overflowing at this point. So once that’s going, I ran upstairs to look like an actual human being for the day. Since I don’t have any more Audio books on my TBR for this month, I opened up my favorite podcast, Pretty Basic. These two ladies seriously get me going!
Like any adult, if you’re sick, your everyday household chores get put on the back burner. Unless you’re a super mom, and if that’s the case…….teach me o’ wise one! I did manage to get a few clothes done and the dishes that I did earlier. My main task that I wanted to tackle today was my office, and I am super happy with the progress that I made. Still a complete mess, but at least I have a safe path from my door to my desk.
At lunch time, I took a break to eat and watch some Netflix.
I also started planning out a few more blogs, and worked on another review for NetGalley, so be on the lookout for that one! I was active on Instagram today, which I definitely fell off that bandwagon. As you can see in the picture, I made a new food journal to track my calorie intake and water intake, and basically help me to stay accountable. Stay-tuned for more blogs surrounding my health journey!
By the time I’m writing this, it’s getting into the evening, which means I’m about to cozy up in front of Netflix once more. I hope you liked this quick little view into my everyday life.
