Hello fellow readers!
Since “unplugging” from social media, I was able to take a step back, take a deep breath, and once again find joy in the things that I’ve been doing. Most importantly, I’ve been learning to find balance in my every day life. So while I know I need to keep a clean house, I realize that I need to still make time for the things that I enjoy doing. There is absolutely no need for me to spend every other weekend (my ONLY weekends off) cleaning the house.
While I have several “goals” that I want to accomplish this month, I’m hoping that an end result is some kind of routine for me.
My April Goals Are:
- write 30,000 words for Camp NaNoWriMo
- read 10 books
- run/walk at least one mile a day
- daily Instagram post
- Catch up on #prettybasic podcast episodes
- post regularly on Twitter (follow me @itsjustmeashb)
- Create and conquer spring cleaning list
- research schools (apply?)
- practice Yoga and meditation
- more self-care days
- book hair appointment (highlights & cut!)
- ween myself from processed foods
I’m actually really happy with how I set up my goals this month. The main theme is definitely getting back to doing what I love, which is reading and writing. Also, did you notice I put “research schools”? Because, yes, I am finally looking at going back to school to get a degree.
At the moment I’m torn between what I want to go for. The company I work for is more likely to pay for tuition for a degree more focused on biology or business, or communication, because obviously me learning that can benefit them if I continue to apply those skills in the workforce. But at the same time, I really want to go for a bachelor’s in creative writing. Downside to that is it is highly unlikely that I could be reimbursed for my tuition, which could be pretty expensive.
One thing I have considered is going through Coursera, or an equivalent, to get a Certificate for creative writing because I still really want to learn more. And then I can take actual college credited courses for Business. I’m not really sure yet.
