Olive Torres is attending her twin’s wedding, stuck with her nemesis, Ethan Thomas. When things go south at the reception and all but these two end up with food poisoning, suddenly there is a dream vacation honeymoon up for grabs. Posing as her sister, Olive decides to take her place at the tropical resort. The catch, she is stuck pretending Ethan is her husband when he refuses to give up the chance to take his brother’s place. What she doesn’t count on, in the upcoming days of playing pretend marriage, is that she doesn’t mind pretending to be married to Ethan, who can be rather charming when he wants to be.

My Thoughts:

Such a fun and quirky read. Olive and Ethan have a love hate chemistry that completely works for them and the situation that they find themselves in. The back-and-forth between them was cute and smile worthy. The characters themselves, though, I found to be lacking. Not in any sense that hurt the book, just that I did not feel like I found something in their personalities that would make me look back after I’ve put down the book and recall warm fuzzy feelings. What I have taken from reading this, is the quality of the writing. Christina Lauren knows how to spin a tale to make mediocre characters enjoyable.

Would I Recommend:

I have actually gone back to change my initial rating from a 5 to a 4. And that’s all due to the characters not making a lasting impression for me. If I revisit this in a month, will my rating drop again? I think I’ll leave it up to you to decide on this one.
