Current Morning Routine

Hello readers! If there is one thing that I love watching on YouTube, or reading on other people’s blogs, it’s a good routine. Morning routine, afternoon routine, coffee-making routine, I don’t care! I love ’em! So I decided today to share with you my “general” morning routine.

Why the quotes?

I say “general” with the quotes because this routine is what I follow most days, but only on my days off. On the days that I work, I’m waking up at 4 am to leave the house at 4:30 so everything is rushed and I cut a lot out because I just don’t have time. I also know that my mornings are going to change once my stepdaughter goes back to school.

Making Myself Presentable

Waking Up. I do not keep an alarm on the days that I have off. Working the schedule that I do, I cherish the sleep that I can get. So no alarms for me on this day! Normally, though, my body just naturally wakes up anywhere from 6:00-8:00 am.

Getting ready. My morning skin routine has been the same whether I have to work or not. In between letting the products settle into my skin, I’m getting dressed and also working my way through my bottle of lemon water. I make the lemon water the night before and let it sit on my night stand over night.

Makeup? I can’t even remember the last time I wore makeup, other than mascara. My skin freaks out if I even touch it the wrong way. However, if any of you have makeup recommendations for sensitive skin, leave them in the comments below! I would be more than willing to try it out.

Breakfast

By the time I get downstairs it’s around 9 am. This is where my morning routine really varies between work days and off days. If I’m jetting out the door to work, I barely have time to remember to grab our lunch let alone make breakfast. This is why I really love my days off. A nice hot breakfast, with perfectly made iced coffee. Yum!

Now this was a larger breakfast, and I let myself have a treat with that french toast bread. All together, including the coffee, this meal was about 400 calories. That is a lot but I won’t get hungry again until later this afternoon which cuts down on how much I’m snacking.

Starting My Day

Plan it out. Right after I get done making breakfast, I will take everything to my office and pull up YouTube. I love starting my day with a vlog from Sara Rae Vargas. So I will watch some of her videos while I eat and start planning out my day. I like to set myself reading goals for the day, as well as any workouts I want to do, grocery lists, chores; etc.

Blogging. By the time I’ve finished eating, and the last dregs of sleep have officially been shook off, I am ready to get to work on my blog. I have a screensaver on my laptop that says “You should make your dreams part of your daily pursuits”. And that’s what I’m doing. I’m so proud of myself for how consistent I’ve been this week. Fingers crossed I can keep this up.

Morning Is Over!

Morning is officially over when I make lunch. At the same time, I swap from working on my blog to working on schoolwork and house chores. That’s when I need to stretch a little bit and get away from my computer.

Thank you!

I do want to thank everyone for the increase in support here on my blog. If you’d like to keep up with my other socials, you can follow me on Instagram, Goodreads, and Twitter. I’m still extremely green to Twitter, but I’m slowly figuring it out. Again, thank you all for reading, and I’ll see you in my next post!
