Where The **** Have I Been?
It has been a hot minute since I’ve been able to sit down and just get my thoughts out there, and I do apologize for that. At the beginning of September I had so much planned and then, as usual, life got in the way and everything went downhill.
A Family In Mourning
The main reason for my lack of posting was the death of a beloved relative. My husband’s grandmother passed away this past month and it left our family devastated. While I spent my days helping the loved ones she left behind, somewhere along the way I stopped taking care of myself. My eating habits fluctuated from eating nothing at all out of depression to binge eating the unhealthiest of meals. For about a week I just didn’t care. About anything. All that food slowed my body down and I started feeling ill and grumpy and led to more depression. Let me tell you, September was not my best month.
I hate that my blog suffers in times like that but not posting during all that is best for me because the stress is real on my end. I’ve learned long ago that I can only handle so much and to take care of what I can mentally handle and no more.
But It’s NaNo Season!
The real reason I am finally able to get out of my funk is because it is NaNo Season! NaNoWriMo is an online writing community that challenges you to write 50k words in 30 days. I have participated, or tried to, every year since 2016 so at this point it’s almost like a tradition. This month, I fully intend to take advantage of this early start and begin prepping this year’s project.
Holding Myself Accountable
Every month, I start off with a whole list of things that I want to do/read/places to go and I let things fall through every month. Be it reading only two out of ten books that I said I would read, or exercising for a week then calling it quits. I yell at my husband for giving up, and yet I’m so guilty of it myself. Say it with me, “hypocritical”. So I am going to challenge myself this month to do five things every day for the month of October.
All The Routines!
Fall is officially here and so it makes sense that my daily routines are changing. Routines on blogs and YouTube are my absolute favorite things and I hope you all enjoy them as well!
