Workouts of the Week: 75 Hard Days 19-25

Thoughts on the Prior Week of 75 Hard

This is the first week where the lack of sleep really got to me and the soreness from constantly working out started to hit me hard. I got out of work early one day and I immediately fell asleep on the couch. But then I woke up in a panic because it was getting late and I needed to get my outside workout in. There were even a few days I felt like I wanted to cry because all I wanted to do was just sit down and relax but instead I forced myself out into the cold weather to get my second workout in. Like the previous week, however, I felt so much more proud of myself for getting it done. This challenge really is a mental challenge because I feel like I am constantly at war with myself to break all those old habits and start setting new ones. The weather being cold is also forcing me to be extra careful with my nutrition and self-care. I have been doing everything possible to ensure that I don’t get sick. One day it is blistering warm and the next it’s back in the 40’s with pouring down rain. Rain or shine, my ass needs to be outside getting it done.

Mental strain aside, I am noticing some changes to my body as well. I am able to wake up much easier, even on work days where I need to be up at 3 am. Also, a lot of my clothes are starting to have a different fit. My tummy pouch isn’t as pronounced as it used to be. I can feel the increased muscle in my arms and legs even my back. My skin, from drinking a gallon of water a day, is so much cleaner!
