The title of this may be a little confusing. I want to clear up right away that I am not restarting 75 Hard, just sort of hitting that refresh button. This past week has left me mentally and physically drained. I was barely hitting my workouts and I wasn’t focused at all. I didn’t want to clean my house. I didn’t want to eat healthy (don’t worry I still was eating balanced). Overall, I felt like I was letting myself slip in to old habits. Maybe it’s because I’m now in the final stage of 75 Hard. With 15 days to go, I need to refocus and get it done. I figured, while I’m refocusing, why not make June my “go all out” month and get freaking serious about my nutrition and fitness.
Workouts for June
I can pinpoint the moment I started to decline in my intensity and focus in my workouts the day after I finished 9 Week Control Freak. I did start 80 Day Obsession but I wasn’t feeling it. The difference, for me, was that I was burning out one part of my body for an hour. With 9WCF, the workouts hit multiple muscle groups and incorporated cardio in almost every one. If it didn’t, that was fine, because then I would have time to hop on the treadmill and do a quick sprint. Also, it was nearly impossible to cram the workouts for 80 Day Obsession into my work day schedule. I didn’t have time in the morning for a full workout and, by the time I got home, I was too exhausted to be lifting heavy. I was only hindering myself. I still stand by it being a great program, but it’s just not what I need right now.
All that to say that I did start a second round of 9 Week Control Freak. The first round through I didn’t take the rest days, because of 75 Hard. This time, I will be substituting the rest days for upper and lower body circuits at my local gym. Yes, that’s right. I will be going back to the gym for the first time in well over a year. I really miss that type of atmosphere and just being around like-minded people that all are working to better their health. Make no mistake, I will take all the precautions while I’m there. Where I live, the mask restrictions have lifted in the majority of the stores, however, I’m not to that level yet. As for my afternoon workouts, I’ve been slacking in the sense that I have been letting my husband talk me in to playing basketball instead of going for my jog. There’s nothing wrong with basketball, but it doesn’t get my heart pumping the way that running does.
Instead of posting my weekly workouts, I will also be sharing some of what I’m doing during my “day in the life” posts!
Nutrition Plan for June
My main goal for my nutrition is to remain as balanced as I can with everything that I eat. I’ve been doing really well with that so far, however, I really want to dial it in and cut out even more processed foods. Again, I’ll be sharing a lot of what I’ve been eating as I do more “day in the life” posts. I am going to start tracking my calorie consumption again and focus more on macros. This may not be sustainable but I do want to try it out and see what I learn. This type of approach, I realize, does not work for everyone. I just want to hone it just little bit more. Like I said, June is going to be my “all out” month. I’ve seen other influencers make a plan and call it their “30 days to get ripped” month. I know I still have a while to go to “get ripped”, but it doesn’t mean I can’t put the work in to see what kind of results I get.
I am really excited for this month, not only because it’s the end of 75 Hard, but because I finally feel like I know what I want out of my fitness journey. Let’s get it!! Thank you so much for reading and until next time……..
