Hello all! August is already off to a great start! Towards the end of July, things started to get away from me as I was recovering from Covid. However, I am almost at 100% and so I am back on my normal grind. My plans for August are really similar to the 75 Hard challenge. I am doing two 45 minute workouts a day, drinking a gallon of water, reading 10 pages of nonfiction and taking daily progress pictures. However, I am not following the challenge to the letter. If I don’t have time to read or I’m a few ounces short of my water goal, nothing happens. The next day I wake up and start my day without that mentally that I’m “starting over” or that I “failed”. That being said, I wanted to share with you what my workouts are going to look like for this month. I am still following the Fit & Functional Q3 Guide from Kelly Yager.
August Workouts
On days marked “Full Body”, I will be doing a combination of some of the moves from each workout.
Days marked “5K” are for my neighborhood walks. I want to work on my endurance for jogging but I’m not going to say I have to jog an entire 5K, especially on days that are brutally hot.
“Cardio” days can be anything cardio related. So walking on the treadmill or pilates.

Nutrition
I am still intuitively eating at this point. However, I did recently pick up a book that will teach me a little more about nutrition. I have been doing pretty decent as far as eating healthy goes. I’ve been focusing less on calories and more on overall portions and swapping out for healthier alternatives. Something that has been bouncing around in my head is the idea of taking up a course through NASM, the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Right now it’s still ruminating because the courses are expensive and I also have school and work. So we’ll see.
