Hello all! I am going to come right out and say that it took me forever to get to this point with my skin. I have struggled with acne probably since the start of puberty. In recent years it started to even out and become tied to my monthly cycle. The breakouts would get really bad, with deep cystic acne, right after my period ended. The closer it got to starting again, that’s when it would start to clear up a bit. My problem areas are mainly along my jawline, chin, and around my nose. I’m going to be completely honest and admit that I would get it along my chest and back as well. And always, once the breakouts cleared up, I would be stuck with these harsh scars.
I’ve tried so many different brands throughout my skin journey. I’ve tried Clinique, Mary Kay, Biore, Clean & Clear, Murad, Peter Thomas Roth….. You name it, I’ve probably tried it (except for those really boujie brands that cost an arm and a leg). For the longest time I stuck with Clinique as I really was getting some amazing results but it wasn’t doing enough. At the start of 2021, I decided to switch things up. Let me tell you, I am so glad that I did.

My New Go-To Brand
If you read my recent Ulta Haul, then you’re probably already aware of the brand. Or maybe you know because you use it or because your favorite influencer uses it, etc, etc. TULA Skincare! They have a variety of products without making the choice on what you need so overwhelming. I haven’t done much research on the brand or the ingredients that they use. If I’m being honest (don’t you dare judge), I don’t care because I have finally found something that works for me.
My Daily Routine
I use the same products every morning and evening. There are a few other items I add in, some from TULA and some from other brands. Those are more for pampering days when I’m just feeling gross and want to spend some extra time for self-care.
Face Wash
Most days I will start off with the So Polished exfoliating sugar scrub. I like to use this right after my morning workout as it just gets rid of any grit and dry skin that’s built up on my skin. As a sugar scrub, it starts off gritty but then it just turns into silk under my fingers. This is really good for getting into the pores around my nose and clearing out those stubborn blackheads. Immediately afterward I use the Keep it Clear acne foam cleanser. It doesn’t really have a scent, at least not that I notice. I like that I don’t need a lot and it doesn’t dry out my skin.

Toner
I switch up what toner I use depending on time and how my skin is looking. I noticed that the Get Toned pro-glycolic 10% resurfacing toner feels better than the Balancing Act purifying and pH balancing toner pads. It soaks into my skin much faster. However, I noticed that I go through that toner like it’s nobody’s business. Lately, what I’ve been doing is using the toner pads in the evening and the Get Toned toner in the morning.

Serums/Gels
I am on my second bottle of Clear it Up acne clearing & tone correcting gel. It says to put it on “problem areas” but I use it all over my face and bring it down my neck and chest. After that soaks into my skin and my skin isn’t tacky anymore, I follow with Hello Radiance illuminating serum. This is supposed to help with dark spots and gives my skin an overall brighter look. Since starting to use the illuminating serum, I have noticed a remarkable difference in the diminishing of dark spots left over from past workouts.

Moisturizer
TULA’s Breakout Star oil-free acne moisturizer is my absolute favorite moisturizer that I’ve ever used. It is so hydrating but doesn’t make me look like a greasy mess. I absolutely love this!

Spot Treatment
Occasionally, I still get really small breakouts on my chin or along my jawline. Thankfully it is nowhere near as bad as it used to be. I will put just a small dap from the Go Away acne spot treatment and within hours the pimple is so much better looking. What I really like, and I think this helps tremendously, is the applicator tip. I don’t use my fingers at all for putting the serum on, which prevents more bacteria from getting into the infected area.

Eyes
Last, but not least, is the Rose Glow & Get It cooling & brightening eye balm. I put this under and around my eyes. I started putting it above my eyebrows as well, because it has such a cooling sensation, similar to an ice roller. Also, hours later, the shimmer that’s in this is visible on my skin so it looks like a natural highlighter.

And that is it! I feel so much more confident in my skin since seeing the results from this brand. I am so glad that I took the plunge to try something new. Let me know in the comments what your go-to skincare brand is or if you’ve tried any of the products mentioned in this post. As always, thank you so much for reading and until next time……………
