2021 was a whirlwind for me. There were months where I worked every day, then I was moved to night shift, then I was moved back to day shift. My home life kind of got put on hold because of that. I struggled just to keep my house clean, let alone rip flooring apart. This year, my schedule is definitely looking promising so I want to tackle some of the things in my house that I’ve been putting off.
Basement
If you follow me on Instagram, you see it in my backgrounds as well as in my stories every day. My basement is my home gym. When we first moved in to our house, we didn’t like the color of the walls, so we slapped on a grey paint and that’s as far as it went. We never finished the bathroom (yes there’s a bathroom), and the floor is a checkered pattern which we thought was cool at the time. And it was cheap. I spend so much time down there, and I show it every day on my feed that I want to put a little more care in to it.
What I want to do is definitely lighten up the walls and get rid of the blue out of the floor. I also need to beg my husband to take his woodworking equipment out of there as I want to full basement to be the gym, and maybe put a lounge chair(?). I would love to be able to go down there and workout then shower right away, so I need to fix up the shower in the bathroom down there.

Office
Next to the basement, I spend the most time in my office as well. I absolutely love the lighting with the huge window that faces the front of my house. This is another room that I started painting but then never finished. It also has this horrible (okay not horrible) green carpet that leads into my husband’s game room. I’m just not a fan of it. So, what I want to do is replace the flooring with wood and repaint the walls. Nothing too dramatic.

Master Bedroom
I cannot stand the master bedroom. I hate the walls and the floor and the furniture. Seriously, everything. I want to redo the whole room. I want lighter walls with hardwood flooring. I have actually been loving the modern look with a lot of darker/black furniture. I think that would look really chic with hardwood flooring as well. As for the closet, I want to redo the entire organization. The goal is to have maybe two rows of racks with a cube-style shelving on the bottom for all my shoes.
Master Bathroom
This is actually the smallest room that I want to redo, even though it’s a “master bathroom”. There’s not a lot to it. I do want to replace the toilet and the sink vanity as well as the lighting. And of course, replacing the flooring from a vinyl to an actual tile, and then finally lighten up the paint away from the yellow that’s in it now.
As much as I would love to add more, these three rooms themselves are going to take a lot of time and money to complete. But I’m excited! As always, thank you so much for reading and until next time……
