As it’s starting to get colder, (and yes it’s getting colder here in the northeastern U.S) most mornings all I want to do is curl up on the couch with a blanket, some coffee, and a physical book. I’ve also been itching to start reading some new-to-me authors. I hopped on Bookstagram and Booktube and found a few I wanted to start with.
- Ruin and Rising – Leigh Bardugo
- I’ve been off and on listening to this on Audio for almost a year now and I am almost finished with it. This is just a bonus book this month for when I’m folding clothes or on the treadmill.

- Sea of Ruin – Pam Godwin
- I first saw this book reviewed by Jess from PeaceLoveBooks on YouTube. It sounds really enthralling and I can’t deny the cover is beautiful.

- Sea Witch Rising – Henning
- This was a random pick from the bargain section at my local bookstore. Wasn’t that interested in picking it up so I’m curious to see if I actually get to this this month.

- Verity – Colleen Hoover
- Ugly Love – Colleen Hoover
- I have seen Colleen Hoover’s books everywhere. Honestly, I haven’t picked one up because I was rebelling against the trend. However, I’ve already picked up Verity and Oh. My. God. If all her books are like this one then I will eat my words and gladly jump on the bandwagon from now till forever.

- The Devil’s Crown – Monica James
- I love Monica James’s books. This is a spinoff from her All the Pretty Things trilogy. I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I was secretly crushing on Aleksei in the first few books.

- Under the Whispering Door – TJ Klune
- I went out on a whim on this book. I’ve never read anything by this author although I have heard of his work. I’m not sure what to expect from this one.

- Neon Gods – Katee Robert
- Again, I’m guilty of already taking a peak between the pages. This is going to be one extremely hot read. No doubt in my mind I won’t be able to read this in a public place and keep my face from looking like a tomato.

- Beauty in the Ashes – Micalea Smeltzer
- This is another book I found recommended by Jess from PeaceLoveBooks. I don’t know much going in to this one other than it’s going to rip my heart out.

- You’ve Reached Sam – Dustin Thao
- I found this one on my way out of the bookstore sitting on one of those kiosks sitting in the center aisle. When I first picked it up, I just thought it was a cute cover. However, I’ve read the synopsis and I am hooked. I definitely feel like I need to be in a good headspace when I read this and probably not at work as I know I’m going to be distracted. This seems like the type of book once I pick it up I’m going to want to binge it till I’m finished.

I’ve been out of the game for a while now. Let me know some recent reads that you’ve loved! I need to catch up on what’s new and trending in the book talk world.
