Morning
I woke up at around 8 this morning and it was much needed. I’d been having to wake up before 3 and staying until odd hours at night for work. I’m the type of person that once my schedule changes it sets a downhill spiral in motion for everything. I broke up my normal morning routine to get some work started. I uploaded a blog post and made a to-do list for the day. Then I spent a large chunk of time placing delivery orders for groceries. My husband and I were both in agreeance that we didn’t want to step foot from the house this day and instead just wanted to stay home and relax. Somewhere in the middle of doing all that I started to get hungry, so I heated up some leftovers of my chicken and carrot stew and made some iced coffee. I know, it’s a weird combination but it worked. After the groceries were ordered, I sipped on my coffee with a festive fall candle lit and worked on some homework. This week’s design was to create a brochure for our restaurant.
Afternoon
I finished up my first design assignment a little after noon. I took a brief break to get some of my normal dishes and clothes started. For those of you that have read some of my previous day in the life posts this may seem like Groundhog Day to you. Quite honestly, my life is extremely boring and extremely repetitive. Monday through Friday, I wake up, workout, go to work, come home, and sleep. The weekends I get up, do homework, dishes, clothes, and sleep. The only difference is those rare occasions I go somewhere. On this day my mother-in-law stopped by on her way home from the grocery store and brought us some cabbage and donuts.
Once she left, I was back at it folding laundry. I managed to write another paper for school and posted to our weekly discussion board. After staring at a screen for so long, I decided to take a break and read the rest of Chamber of Secrets. In case you missed it, I’m doing a buddy read for the rest of 2022 with my stepdaughter going through the entire Harry Potter series. The night before we had watched the first Harry Potter movie as a wrap up of us reading the book. She ended up realizing she was pretty far behind and needed to get back on track if she was going to be able to finish her goal for the year.
A little after 2:00 the first grocery delivery came so we all put a pause on what we were doing to bring them inside and put everything away. They coaxed me outside for a few minutes to play basketball, which made me realize it was warmer out than I had thought. With tights and a thermal, I was actually sweating so I was outside long enough to be schooled in a game of H.O.R.S.E. Then it was right back inside to swap out some clothes and put more away while my husband made some pizza. While we ate, we watched a little bit of this new (new to me) show on Netflix called Love Death +Robots. It’s an animated series where every episode is independent of one another. As strange as it is, I’m about 10 episodes in and I am hooked. So it took a lot of discipline to shut the TV back off to get back to work.
Evening
Now that most of my schoolwork was caught up, I needed to get caught up on content. So I spent some time putting some blog posts together (including this one). Since going back to my monthly Erin Condren planner I feel like I’ve been doing much better keeping everything organized and keeping me set on task. We ended up finishing out the evening watching that show on Netflix again until we all started to feel sleepy and called it a night.
Wow, this is a crazy productive day !! I want to try to be more productive tomorrow and wake. up early. Wish me luck 😍
