When I first moved out of my parents house I didn’t have much sense of style when it comes to decorating. I kind of still don’t. We’ve also gone through spurts of not wanting to put lights up outside. My goal is to have one of those homes you see in like those boujie neighborhoods where the lights twinkle along every edge and there’s a manger……… Alas I let my dreams get the best of me sometimes. But I digress. I have been decorating a bit more for the seasons with tiered trays and candles everywhere. For privacy reasons, I won’t be sharing the outside of my home. My decorations have also stuck to mainly the living room and kitchen because that’s where we spend the majority of our time during these colder months.

I was looking back a pictures of my family home at Christmas, or always. My mom was obsessed with everything in it’s place, and have to have ‘that’ look….which why I’m more stuff everywhere, if it looks okay, why not?….

My mom was the same way. I like keeping things cleanish but I get that life is messy so if something’s out of place then it’s not the end of the world.

Lovely decorations. This year, I wanted to make my house a little more Christmas-y, so I set out to buy one item every pay cheque. I have failed on that mission, with only one purchase to date.

There’s still 2 weeks until Christmas! You can do it! You can also buy things like green and red construction paper and make those paper ring stringlets. My stepdaughter loves making those and they are cute.
